Every SVVVA piece is made and finished by hand. Natural changes in color, shine and surface may appear over time depending on wear, moisture, skin pH and contact with everyday products. These changes are normal and form part of the life of the piece.
General care
Avoid water and moisture
Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping. Salt water, chlorine, sweat and prolonged exposure to humidity can alter the finish and accelerate tarnishing.
Avoid chemicals
Keep your jewelry away from perfume, creams, cosmetics, cleaning products and other chemicals. Put your jewelry on after applying these products and allow them to dry first.
Store each piece separately
Store your jewelry in a cool, dry place, preferably inside an individual pouch, airtight bag or jewelry box. Keeping pieces separate helps prevent scratches and friction.
Handle it carefully
Avoid impacts, excessive pressure and contact with hard or abrasive surfaces. Sculptural, openwork or delicate pieces should not be bent or forced.
Sterling silver
Sterling silver naturally oxidizes and darkens over time. This is a normal reaction to air, humidity, skin pH and everyday wear, and does not mean that the piece is damaged.
To restore its shine, gently rub the surface with a soft silver-polishing cloth. For heavier tarnishing, use a product specifically formulated for sterling silver and follow its instructions carefully.
Do not use abrasive brushes, toothpaste, baking soda or household cleaning remedies, as they may scratch or alter the surface.
Gold-plated jewelry
Gold plating is a surface finish that gradually changes with wear. Its durability depends on skin pH, frequency of use and exposure to water, sweat and chemicals.
Clean gold-plated pieces only with a clean, soft and dry cloth. Do not use silver polish, abrasive products or liquid cleaning solutions, as these may remove or damage the plating.
To preserve the finish for as long as possible, avoid wearing plated jewelry continuously and store it separately after use.
Stones and delicate finishes
Some pieces may include stones, intentional oxidation, textured surfaces or other delicate finishes. These details may require more careful cleaning.
Avoid immersing these pieces in water or applying polishing liquids directly to them. Clean them gently with a soft, dry cloth. Polishing products may remove intentional darkened areas or alter the contrast of the original finish.
